The University of Gondar Community School takes part in the 4th annual spelling bee in Uganda
From the 18th through 20th of October 2019, students from the University of Gondar Community School took part in a regional Spelling Bee located in the Horn of Africa country of Uganda. More than 14 countries participated in the event displaying the spelling skills of these bright and talented individuals.

Each of the countries allowed six students to take part in the competition allowing an even number of students from each country. The sections were broken up into three juniors (grades 1-4) and three seniors (grades 5-8). Six students represented Ethiopia and in which two of them (Habtamu Aschlio and Bereket Amsalu) were from UoG’s Community School.

Habtamu Aschilo was among the six finalist in the junior competition. In the end, though our students did their best and did not make it into the top three. Students from Kenya, Nigeria and Uganda won the top three ranks respectively. Please show your support to the Students from the UoG Community School for their great effort!
