6.        Privacy Policy

A privacy policy is a statement or a legal document that states how University of Gondar collects, stores, protects, and utilizes personal data provided by its staffs, students, and external users. Personal data refers to an individual’s information collected for research, administrative, and/or record-keeping purposes or collected while interacting with the University’s systems (website, student information systems, and the like). Individual’s information may include name, address, email, phone number, age, sex, marital status, race, nationality, and religious beliefs.


The purpose of this policy is to protect the privacy of the staffs, students, and guests of the University.


This policy applies to all ICT systems and services implemented within the University that collect personal data. This policy also applies to all users connected to the University’s network.
