This ICT Policy document is a comprehensive policy guideline for the University of Gondar.  The ICT Directorate, IAC, and the respective faculties or units are responsible for the implementation of the ICT Policies across the University. The IAC and ICT Directorate shall develop a policy implementation plan that identifies activities to be performed, require resources, time frame and the responsible stakeholders. Whenever there are unsolved policy issues, the IAC shall report to the Business and Development Vice President Office for high-level decisions. 

ICT Directorate shall:

  • Facilitate the implementation of the University’s ICT policy, 
    • Request resources needed for the University’s ICT policy implementation,
    • Report to the concerned offices of the University whenever policy violations are observed, and
    • Provide ICT resources and technical support to academic, research, and administrative units toward the implementation of the ICT Policy.

IAC shall:

  • Oversee and monitor the implementation of the University’s ICT policy,
    • Advise the Vice President for Business and Development and ICT Directorate for the implementation of the University’s ICT policy,
    • Revise the University’s ICT Policy in consultation with the Vice President for Business and Development and ICT Directorate, and
    • Formulate and prepare relevant standards and guidelines toward the implementation of the University’s ICT policy.

The Role of Staffs and Students

Successful implementation of the University’s ICT Policy depends on policy implementers (staffs and students). Thus, every implementer is responsible to follow all the Policy’s recommendations. The University’s ICT Directorate shall work hand-in-hand with implementers to support and facilitate effective implementation of the policy.
