1.2.1.     Duties and Responsibilities of IAC

  • Evaluates, reviews, and recommends ICT policies, strategies, and standards for approval,
  • Evaluates, reviews, and recommends all ICT-related bids and projects,
  • Evaluates, reviews, and recommends Vice President for Research and Community Services all ICT system development projects including ICT-related technology transfer and community service projects sponsored by and planned to be implemented within and outside the University,
  • Monitors all ongoing ICT-related projects within the University,
  • Advises and monitors the implementation of the ICT policies and strategies,
  • Ensures the connection between business and ICT activities, and their alignment to the University and ICT strategic objectives,
  • Oversights programs to assist the prioritization of resources and investment for the ICT programs, and ensures alignment with strategic plan,
  • Ensures if appropriate degree of risk management is applied to the activity or to the project, with regular monitoring of the risks and mitigations,

  • Proposes appropriate actions for direct intervention or escalation via agreed executive channels,
  • Assesses and then recommends the appropriateness of investments in critical resources (people, applications, infrastructure, and information) as related to ICT activities,
  • Assesses if the investment in technology choice aligns with the approved ICT policies and strategies,
  • Monitors the status of ICT activities and projects at regular intervals (such as projects agreed on phases) and measures performances against time, cost, risk, and quality, with corrective action, agreed as required; and then provides suggestions,
  • Oversees and evaluates the works of external consultants, and then provides recommendations.
  • Receives a report from the ICT director every quarter, or as required, to share information pertinent to the ICT program, and
  • Reports regularly to the Vice President for Business and Development of the University.
