GCST and UoG strengthen their existing partnership
Gadarif College for Science and Technology and the University of Gondar, through mutual consensus, strengthen their collaboration with a Memorandum of Understanding and an Action Plan. According to Dr. Abu-Bakr, the dean of GCST, “by the end of the course the students will be able to speak, understand, write and read in both Amharic and Sudanese Arabic to foster free communication among the two nations”.
Gadarif College, which is located in Sudan, seeks to strengthen relations between Sudan and Ethiopia via higher education, planning specific academic and non-academic cooperation and the likes.
The President of the University of Gondar who signed the two agreements expressed his wish that the partnership will continue with practical results. Sudan for some time now has been working with Ethiopia on many crucial endeavors from win- win scenarios to mere backing. Just among the good gestures received form the country, recently Sudan has expressed their approval and support for Ethiopia’s multi billion dollar Grand Renaissance Dam which is being built in the Benishangul-Gumuz Region. With future collaborations being seen to increase the two educational institutions will continue to work together as one.
