Forging Stronger International Links

The University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna, Austria (BOKU), and the University of Gondar sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) promoting the value of educational, cultural and scientific exchange between the two institutions.
Signed in Bahir Dar, Ethiopia, the agreement aims to facilitate and further enhance academic cooperation in the fields of training, research, curriculum development, postgraduate education, quality assurance, institutional development, information dissemination and student exchange between the faculty and staff of the University of Natural Resources and Life Science, Vienna, Austria and the University of Gondar.
Dr Afework Kassu, General Director for Research and Community Service Core Process, representing the University of Gondar commented that such academic cooperation will help both Universities to share their experiences and embark on areas of mutual interest in education, research and community services. He also added that, as a young university with 58 undergraduate and 64 postgraduate programs, this agreement presents the University of Gondar with an exciting opportunity to learn and develop its activities further.
This agreement marks an extension of the existing relationship between the two universities, initially established via the TRANSACT

project working around research and PhD and masters level trainings. The University of Gondar has also recently signed an academic agreement with the Medical University of Vienna, Austria further widening its links with Austrian higher training institutions.
