As we celebrate our 60th Anniversary we look forward to the opportunity to celebrate all our past achievements, to honor the countless contributions made by many during our journey, to stand in acknowledgement of our current accomplishments and to envisage a long and fruitful future.

Born out of the joint effort between the Imperial Ethiopian Government and USAID (formerly known as Point 4), UNICEF and WHO in 1954, our institution has continued with its proud tradition of working collaboratively with a range of partners and stakeholders, both national and international. Our growth and development over the past 60 years owes a great deal to our many staff, friends and partners – our success and achievement would not have been possible without their commitment and support.

On the event of our 60th Anniversary we want to take the opportunity to thank you for your valued support and contribution. We also look forward to welcoming you to our historic city and university in 2014, when we can come together to celebrate and craft a joint vision towards a stronger and brighter future.
