Candidates must be graduates of BSc in Nursing from a recognized University/college; have minimum of 2 years of post-graduation experience in clinical practice (preferably from the chosen specialty); complete an application form submit a curriculum vitae; supply a recommendation from hospital matron or equivalent and an academic tutor (if appropriate); and must exceed threshold of the entrance examination.
The program has three specialty tracks i.e. Medical, Surgical and Pediatric specialties. The curriculum is developed in collaboration with Leicester- Gondar link and Demontfort University both located in the United Kingdom. The program aims to produce graduates with Advanced Clinical Nursing knowledge, attitude and skills in their specialty area and ensure their competent involvement in nursing clinical practice, education, leadership and research. The program is the first of its kind in the history of nursing training in the country and is believed to raise nursing care practice in the country by one level.

Act as a role model for practice in accordance with the professional code of ethics and professional standards
Audit the service needs
Write a proposal for staff and equipment requirements and implementing change
Involve in curriculum design and the implementation of nurse training.
promote professionalism and continued professional development
Supervise BSc and Diploma nurses in their specialty area
Prescribe nursing care using the nursing process in their specialty area
