A project commencement ceremony is underway
The University of Gondar and four other universities, (Hawassa University, Jimma University, Addis Ababa Science and Technology and Debre Markos University), as well as two universities and one health research institute from Norway, have won a six-year project that focuses on nurturing SDGs through Capacity Building Higher Education in Ethiopia.
During the opening ceremony, Dr. Asrat Atsedeweyn, President of UoG, conveyed the message that the contents of this project are in line with the recently approved 10-year strategic plan of the University and the institution will work hard for its success. The source of funding for this project is NORAD, an agency under the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The major components of the project are connected with launching new MSc programs, revising existing programs, organizing seminars for students, establishing interdisciplinary research groups, staff exchange, organizing short term trainings for staffs and equipping labs and so much more.
Ceremonies in person and online chat started today and will continue on tomorrow.
