The LMCDEHE-NPT-282 Project Coordination office gave a two days training on customer service handling from April 7-8/2012 at the University Guest House. Ato Ayisheshim Mekonnen, the long time trainer and councilor of the university, and Dr. Desalegn Mengesha, LMCD project coordinator at the university delivered the training.
More than 145 trainees from management, middle management (deans and directors), academic department heads, postgraduate coordinator, unit heads, team leaders, and cost center coordinators of the administrative wing of the university participated the training.
In the opening session of the training, Prof. Mengesha Admasu reminded that the LMCD project has been playing a great role in the process of effective implementation of the university’s strategic plan. He, in addition, explained that ‘’ in this training, we will be trained about customer service handling and we will be discussing about the status of our strategic plan implementation and the challenges encountered.’’
During the two days training and discussion, customer handling, coaching and team work, and monitoring and evaluation were the major themes in focus. Dr. Wassie Molla made a short presentation on the status of implementation of the university’s strategic plan and the challenges being encountered.
The trainees also actively participated in the training and discussions exercises- individual participation, group discussions, and presentation and other reflection activities. They also forwarded questions and comments about the challenges related implementing the strategic plan. The top management, in turn, promised that it will take the comments as one major resource of the outcome the discussion.
