Quality assurance and Laboratory management unit

Unit of Quality Assurance and Laboratory Management (QALM) was established in 2010 when department of Medical laboratory Sciences was integrated with department of Medical Microbiology and Parasitology and advanced to School of Biomedical and Laboratory Sciences. Since its establishment as a unit under the School of Biomedical and Laboratory Sciences, it contributes in teaching, research and community service activities.Previously, Mr. Zelalem Addis and Mr. KasawAdane led the unit from 2010 to 2012, 2012 to 2017 respectively. Currently Mr. Mekonnen Girma is leading the unit since 2017. The QALM unit has been delivering different courses for different undergraduate and post graduate students. The Unit is now working to transform to department and striving to launch a MSc program in “Health Laboratory Quality anagement”. Currently, the unit has 3 MSc, 2 BSc by educational level and 1 Associate professor, 2 Lecturrers, and 2 Graduate Assistant II by academic ranks.
