Alumni
With a history spanning 60 years, the University of Gondar has undergone a great number of transformations. Starting as a Public Health College and Training Center in 1954, it transformed to Gondar College of Medical Sciences (GCMS) in 1980/81. In 2003 it underwent further transformation becoming 2003 Gondar University College. Finally in 2004 it became the University of Gondar.
Irrespective of its incarnation the University has remained a dynamic and innovative place offering students a stimulating intellectual and social environment. Since its establishment the University has graduated over 25,000 students and in this academic year alone we have over 23,000 students enrolled.
As our community continues to grow in number and reach we are keen to ensure that our bonds remain strong between old and new, the past and the future. We seek to facilitate a lifelong relationship between alumni and friends of the University. We are formally beginning to connect alumni with the University of Gondar and with each other. So please join up today as a Alumni member using the form at the bottom of the page.
