A cultural centre called “Gondar University cultural Center” is going to be established at the beginning of next year in the University of Gondar. The cultural centre, in main, is proposed in a bid to contribute to fulfilling the missions and visions of the university.
As the university is situated in a town rich of in history, cultures and values and antiquities it, justifiably, creates spates of opportunities, to explore, exchange and share cultural values among the students from around the different regions of the country. Taking students as major stake-holders and front runners in the centre, it would create conducive, engaging and interactive atmosphere in the university. It also quite helps students to be able to find for what they are born to since preparing cultural shows, literary evenings and entertainments are some of the main focuses of the centre.

University of Gondar is making all the preparations in every direction to have a colorful start on the new academic year. As there is hardly more than a month left for the start of the new academic year, both the core and support processes are making every move rhyming with the new BPR study which put on to trial at the beginning at the start of the year and to further scrutiny on the last quarter of this academic year. Supposedly, the appraisal carried out well- hoped to put to an end the old and traditional ways of thinking and reassure transformational thinking and leadership. It also pronounced and widely shared the success and good experiences of various processes.
Since then, the university community seemed to be to rigorously moving forward owing to the legacy of the appraisal, which helped the participants to assess clearly their weaknesses and good sides. Apparently, from teaching-learning to research to community service to support processes all vows in one voice to bring change and transformation in the new academic year. |

Dear Graduates of 2010
It is with great pleasure I greet you all on this grand occasion of the annual commencement. This year’s graduation is hailed with myriad of accomplishments enabling us to meeting with the needs through the implementation of newer and dynamic strategies- ensuring the revitalization of our university.
Producing of competent, problem solving and full-fledged students is one worth-noting goal that we have set which of course topped all the agenda on the table. Hence, to put this in effect, establishing conducive environment and up-to-standard academic ambit is quite inevitable. Thus, since the last couple of years, we are in a massive expansion campaign; new libraries, laboratories, dormitories and classrooms across the three campuses are on the last phase of completion and some are already put in use. And, this well help us to enhance the services that we provide for our students expanding access and opportunities for quality education, and the community around through carrying out researches grounded in responding to the pressing problems-ensuring a better life.
